Iridescence Serum: Queen of the Face to Grace Collection

Iridescence Serum is a bottle that contains several oils and essential oils that deeply nourish the skin while supporting a gentle flow of energies in your chakras and marmas for overall health, beauty and inner harmony.

Iridescence Serum is not only exceptionally great for your skin with its nourishing oils but also because I chose essential oils that balance the physical body and the movement of energy in your chakras via the marma points (mini chakras) on your face. Its synergy works in mysterious ways, supporting harmony and health within your physical and inner worlds.

The Oils and Their Properties

Maceration of comfrey. Comfrey is also known as “knitbone” because it promotes cell growth and regeneration. In addition to its healing benefits with bone fractures, pulled muscles and ligaments, and painful joints, it also provides elasticity to the skin and accelerates the healing process of burns and bruises. I grow it in my garden, collect, dry its leaves and put them in oil to macerate for several weeks. This year, I have used some of its fresh leaves to distill a hydrosol. Before our industrialized era, folks carried pouches ready to make a paste in case of injury and as a symbol of prosperity.

Maceration of yarrow, also called the “nosebleed plant” stops bleeding when used fresh or dried, not only of the nose but other wounds. It is analgesic and antiseptic, lessens pain, and prevents infections. Many studies of yarrow over the world confirm that it protects the skin from the sun and radiation, and heals burns from the sun and nuclear radiation. I like to collect this wild plant in bunches when I go to the country in areas where there is as little pollution as possible.

Maceration of calendula is a versatile skincare powerhouse rich in antioxidants. It absorbs UV light, acts as enzyme inhibitors, influences the skin cell by soothing then when irritated, as well as hydrating it and supporting the skin barrier, reducing sensitivity. It’s very helpful for sensitive skin, eczema, and wind burns. In addition to its healing properties, I enjoying growing calendula in my garden for its joyful appearance and because it attracts bees and butterflies.

Almond oil provides deep moisturization, soothes irritation, improves skin tone, and helps with conditions like acne, scars, and stretch marks. Its high content of vitamins A and E, antioxidants, and fatty acids protects the skin barrier, reduces signs of aging, and protects from sun damage.

Apricot kernel oilIn addition to providing deep hydration, improving skin tone and texture, and protecting it with antioxidants, apricot kernel oil helps to soothe, soften, and regenerate the skin while fighting free radical damage. It absorbs quickly without leaving a greasy feel and is beneficial for mature, sensitive and blemish-prone skin.

Kumkumadi oil. This ayurvedic oil, in a sense is to Indian women what clam chowder is for the folks of Atlantic Canada. Every family or company has its own secret recipe. However, the main ingredient is saffron and the basic others are manjistha (Indian madder), licorice, sandalwood, and vetiver.

Other oils may include castor, rosehip, coconut, himalayan safron maceration, ksheerabala, baobab,

The Essential Oils and Their Properties

Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia, True Lavender). Here I use it as the vessel for the other essential oils. It has been my friend and right hand for close to 30 years. The discovery of her healing properties is fascinating and led to the development of scientific research on essential oils. She is prized for her sweet, floral aroma and calming properties. She is considered anti-aging because her high antioxidant content fights free radicals that cause wrinkles. Her anti-inflammatory and collagen-boosting properties stimulate the repair of skin damage, reduce redness, and promote a more youthful, improve circulation and cell regeneration needed for a radiant complexion.  She is my number one for skin health as she is impeccable at healing burns, cuts and bruises, and preventing scars. She relieves anxiety, stress, headaches, and muscle tension. Her sedative, pain-relieving  and relaxation properties facilitate sleep. In meditation she is a great ally to bring neutrality and a calm mind. I love growing this wise plant in my garden for its beauty, to macerate it and to distill it to obtain hydrosol.

Other essential oils include change over the seasons but often include benzoin, vetiver, bergamote, vanilla, tangerine or orange, rose geranium, jasmin, opoponax, and myrtle.
